株式会社クォンタムフラワーズ＆フーズは、非GMOの新品種開発技術「中性子線育種（スピーディ育種）」を提供しています。植物種子や培養材料等に中性子線を照射することで、多様な変異を効率的に誘発し、従来育種では得にくい有用形質の探索を加速します。 本展示では、施設園芸・植物工場分野に関連する課題に対し、高温耐性、病害抵抗性、収量性、品質、栽培適性などの改良可能性をご紹介し、植物工場や施設園芸において重要となる、安定生産、省力化、気候変動対応、商品差別化に向けた新たな育種アプローチとしてご提案します。

Quantum Flowers ＆ Foods Co. Ltd. provides a non-GMO breeding technology for new variety development called “neutron beam breeding (Speedy Breeding).” By irradiating plant seeds cultured tissues and other biological materials with neutron beams we can efficiently induce diverse mutations and accelerate the discovery of valuable traits that are difficult to obtain through conventional breeding. At this exhibition we will introduce the potential of this approach to address challenges in greenhouse horticulture and plant factory production including improvement in heat tolerance disease resistance yield quality and cultivation suitability. We will propose it as a new breeding approach for achieving stable production labor saving climate change adaptation and product differentiation all of which are increasingly important in plant factories and protected horticulture.
